Summer Wedding cake

This wedding cake was baked by the bride's aunt and decorated by Carolyn. Simple buttercream frosting with fresh flowers right out of the garden at the wedding location.

Carolyn was asked by friends to make their wedding cake and this was the finished product. Black ribbon, black feathers and fresh green orchids added to this beautiful cake!

Wedding Cake

Carolyn was honoured when her brother and his fiance asked her to make their wedding cake. This cake is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting on the top and bottom layers and marble cake with buttercream frosting in the middle. The bride's mother made the beautiful beaded strands for the decoration around each layer and fresh flowers were added to finish this cake off. It was enjoyed by all!

Carolyn made this Calliou cake and apparently the boy who got this one was SO thrilled about the cake that he even poked his eyes out. 

 

Wedding Cake

Carolyn made this beautiful wedding cake for a relative.  They wanted a 2 tiered cake frosted with buttercream, topped with roses.

Baby Shower

Carolyn was asked to make a cake for a baby shower for one of her friends.  The baby has already arrived so the message on the cake was one to welcome him to the world.

It was a white cake frosted with real buttercream (so delicious!!).

P-p-p-poker cake

Poker is a favorite past time of our brother in law so we decided to make a poker cake for his 19th birthday.

He had no idea that we were doing a custom cake for him.  In fact, he just wanted “a cake with chocolate chips.”  We couldn’t just leave it at that of course, so we definitely whipped something more fun together.  He was so surprised and the words, “that is a sexy cake,” may have been said.

There’s an app for that…

At one of the latest birthdays a few of the boys had the age old debate:  BlackBerry vs iPhone.  Carolyn’s brother has an iPhone and loves it so it was the inspiration for his birthday cake.

The cake was frosted with black buttercream and the apps were made out of gumpaste.

Carolyn made this birthday cake for her husband.  Blue is his favorite color and to spruce things up, edible stars were tossed on top.  The kids loved this cake!

A Home Depot Christmas

Carolyn had made this Home Depot Apron cake for her father’s Christmas Cake.  Even the little Home Depot man was hand crafted by Carolyn using gumpaste.

This is a buttercream cake that Alexis and Carolyn made for one of Alexis’s coworkers who loves Spongebob Squarepants.

Little Girls Love Cupcakes!

In the last post we asked who didn’t love cupcakes – and we know for sure young girls DO love cupcakes!  Especially cake sized cupcakes!  Here are a few cake sized birthday cupcakes for a few lucky little ladies!

This was for our cousin’s daughter’s first birthday.  It was a cake feast:  Large cupcake cake, regular sized sprinkle cupcakes & cake balls!

Cupcakes!

Who doesn’t love cupcakes?   Cupcakes are what started the cake decorating trend for Alexis who had been decorating them before Carolyn had asked to do the cake decorating course.

Alexis figured the course could only help with the cupcake decorating and from there the rest was history!
